Slipcovers and 9 Project Runway!

Are you inspired by the reality show Project Runway? How do the contestants come up with such clever ideas and create entire outfits in a day? Have you thought, "that would be fun to do in the workroom!"?

Well here's your chance! The Slipcover Network is sponsoring a fun "contest" of sorts to put our creative urges to the test. In conjunction with the upcoming season 9 Project Runway - we will be showcasing our own designs using the weekly inspiration from the series.

The rules are minimal - we will post the "inspiration", but then, you will already know it if you watch the show.

You have the weekend  to come up with an inspired and creative design using your choice of chair. Post your photo and description on Monday and then cast your vote for the winning design on Tuesday. We suggest keeping it simple and inexpensive. After all - we can't tell if you used that scrap left over from your last job, or even if you sewed it together or used a (gasp!) gluegun!

Everyone is welcome to join in. So far we have an impressive list of Slipcover Fabricators Extraordinaire:

Tessy Bennett
Sue Sifukis
Cathy Mahoney
Rachel Short
Linda Miids
Christy Statz
Emily Pettit
Judy Ellis
Sheryl McAfee
Angie Knowles
Kim Newell
Claudia Buchanan

Of course, we all know the mantra........."Make It Work!!!"

"Project Runway," will kick off its ninth season with 20 talented designers – the most in series history – beginning Thursday, July 28 at 9 pm/8c on Lifetime Television.

I wonder which chair to use? My cute little wingback or an easier profile....

Is this something one must commit to do every week for a certain time?? I'd love to give it a shot but not sure how much time I can put in on it...

Would I need to commit to a weekly contribution for a set time period?? Or can I pop in as time allows?? Either way -- can't wait to see what the "Inspiration" will be... :-)
